Grade 8: Movie Week

November 16, 2021

On November 11th, grade 8 students had an enjoyable experience watching movies. Teachers investigated the students’ preference of movies—students were asked to complete pre-event bookings that required the audience to choose their desired film on the school website. The occasion was met with general enthusiasm as students fought to sign up for their movie of choice upon first notice. Yet, many were disappointed by its abrupt end, as 90 minutes proved insufficient for most to finish their films.

Movie week was seen as a chance to truly unwind at school, surrounded by friends and, of course, the pleasures the virtual world brings. The movies choices were abundant, too, a wide range of thirteen options from modern-day classics to animation benchmarks. To add to the audience’s enjoyment was the snacks that went to the theatres and its buyers—chips, soft drinks, and chocolate bars, all of which were sold right in the hallways of the fourth floor, just before the movies were played. In addition, all profits derived from the snacks went to charity, a nice surcharge that only increased the cheerful mood.
