Grade 11 CAS: Micro Movie Showcasing

November 15, 2021

During CAS class on November 10, the eleventh graders watched microfilms carefully made by each class in the classroom. Each microfilm depicted a different theme in just 4 minutes.

The microfilm of Grade 11 Class 1, Have Passion for Winning, embodied the beauty of life's small victories through three parallel stories together. Whether it is learning to take care of an injured turtle, making hometown cooking with your own hands, or surpassing yourself in sports, they are all small victories that seem insignificant but actually brighten up life. And it is these small victories that bring so much joy.

Class 3 used short stories and interviews to talk about how to deal with the growing social phenomenon of "in-rolling". In the short story, the main character went from being unable to relieve stress to learning to reconcile with himself. This process, together with the interview at the end, expressed the theme and inspired many students.

Inspire Greatness, filmed by Class 6, focused on people's inner strength. The film clearly demonstrated this theme through the transition and stitching of images and the monologues of the characters. In their studies and hobbies, the two protagonists did not give up their original intention in the face of setbacks. The strength in their hearts allowed them to rise to the occasion and eventually succeed in overcoming their difficulties. The humorous episodes interspersed in the middle also added fun to the film.

In the process of making the microfilm, students used their imaginations to come up with various plots and learned a lot about film. The students also gained a lot of inspiration while watching the movie in this CAS class. Through this microfilm activity, students learned new things and gained new skills while relaxing and enriching their high-school life.
