Teacher Advisers (TA) Office October Counseling and Activities Summary
After the implementation of the TA House Program, the counseling activities from each house have been advancing. Regular counseling activities are mainly arranged during lunch time. Before counseling, each teacher asks students to do a survey about their concerns, which aims to promote students to actively understand the direction that needs to be planned and raise targeted questions. Teachers can also view these questions before giving suggestions to give more personalized guidance. After the counseling session, each student needs to record and reflect on the contents of talking with TAs and make an action plan for the suggestions given by the teacher. Most of the topics for this month’s counseling were about the four-year plan and study methods during the exam preparation period.
Based on the activities carried out by House, the teachers in the TA Office gave a counseling session for CTB competitions: Ms. Yang gave a lecture on the analysis of college majors so that the students are better able to build a bridge between dreams and actions; Ms. Xu Jiangye invited Zou from Grade 11 to share her club and competition experience to show how she continued to insist on dancing under the busy academic arrangements of 11th grade and how her interest shaped her personality and allowed her to have a wealth of experience and enough confidence to reflect on her own characteristics in college applications; Ms. Chen organized a seminar for 9th-grade students to understand problems and confusion encountered during the first two months of high-school study and activities to give more specific suggestions. The students also listened to each other’s opinions and learned from each other’s learning methods, review methods, and competition and club activity experiences.
In the next month, the TA Office will continue to carry out various activities to guide students in Grades 9-10 to find a direction for development.
