Primary School Subjects Department: G2 Here Comes the New World Wonders
Over the past few weeks, the second-grade students have been learning about the many different “Wonders of the World.” After taking time to learn about them, in week 9, they were tasked with making a creative “CLIPS” video about a landmark of their choosing. They needed to discuss what made it so special and why it deserved to be the 8th New World Wonder.
The students did a marvelous job at showcasing their creativity and gathering information to complete these projects. They also demonstrated their growth in using technology and their ability to think critically about what makes a landmark truly unique. Some of the landmarks nominated for a position as the 8th New World Wonderincludethe Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Eiffel Tower, Shanghai’s Pearl Tower, and Tiananmen Square.
Once the projects were finished, the students were not only eager to share their projects with their classmates, but they were also very excited to watch the videos created by their peers. The students loved the challenge of merging new technology, historical research, and persuasive techniques to create their innovative videos.
