High School Physics Department: Self-designed Experiment Demonstration of Grade 11
On the morning of October 22, a demonstration class was held in a physics class of Grade 11. Students recorded the self-designed pendulum experiment into a video and shared it in class in groups.
The content of this experiment was to make a simple pendulum and use it to calculate the acceleration duo to gravity on Earth. Students put the mobile phone in the designed device, used ‘Phyphox’ software in the mobile phone to measure the parameters of the pendulum, and, finally, made a video of the experimental process and background principle. The groups also conducted mutual evaluation. The evaluation criterion includes whether the background introduction is included, whether the expression is clear, whether the experimental design is rigorous, and what the final presentation effect of the video is.
From experimental design to conduction and then to video demonstration, students have fully experienced the scientific research process, practiced their expression ability, deepened their understanding of physics knowledge, and experienced the fun of learning physics.
