Family-School Cooperation to Cultivate the Youth：High School Parent School

Dr. Guo Feng, an expert on psychology, was invited by SHSID to give a seminar on “How to Communicate with Adolescent Children Effectively” to all the parents of SHSID’s high-school section. On October 21, 2021, at 6:00 pm, both online and offline channels were offered to promote this seminar in order to increase the awareness of parent-school cooperation, students’ mental and physical health, and effective communication between parents and teenagers.

During the seminar Dr. Guo first introduced in detail the physical and psychological characteristics of teenagers in general, based on which he then gave advice on the practical ways and strategies to communicate with adolescent children. The parents participated in the discussion actively with Dr. Guo, especially on how to control the use of electronic devises wisely. The seminar was closed in a warm and fruitful exchange of ideas, perspectives, and understandings.

This parent-school activity continues to prove to be a great effort to strengthen collaboration among the school, teachers and families, which would cast a positive effect on healthy communication between school and families as well as kids and parents.
