Lingang Campus: A Science Exploration Trip to Haichang Ocean Park
On the morning of Thursday, October 21st, allgradeonestudentsofSHSID Lingang campus visitedtheHaichang Ocean Park for a science exploration experience, aiming to help them better understand the habits and characteristics of different animals, as well as stimulate their curiosity and interest in the animal world, thereby broadening their horizons in science.
Despite the chilly air outside, all children showed great enthusiasm towards learning something new. Under the guidance of a professional, the students navigated four exhibits: Penguin Habitats, Sea Mammals, Arctic Hall, and Whale Shark Hall, where many different species could be found and many rich resources and interactive activities were offered. Students were observing and listening carefully, asking questions as if they were already little zoologists and scientists.
The homeroom teachers encouraged all children to go on an investigative hunt for mammals, birds, and fish. Those tiny scientists explored and shared their new findings with their classmates. Many animals were found that could be sorted into these three different animal groups. Different types of penguins, cute seals, gentle Beluga whales, schools of fish swimming, the colorful underwater world—all excited the kids and motivated their exploration.
It was a fruitful and adventurous morning, and the students were all reluctant to leave! We are sure that this extraordinary half-day exploration trip enhanced students’ interest in all things aquatic and contributed to a better awareness of harmonious ecological existence.
