Grade 8: Service-Learning Introduction
On September 2nd, during the YD period, eighth grade students attended the service-learning introduction event. Service-based learning is something that every student needs to learn. This way of learning has benefited students greatly, for they can serve a community and get inspired during the process.
There are many types of service-learning groups in eighth grade, including News Group, Photography Group, Poster Group, Lab Assistant Group, Library Helper Group, and Story Buddies. Our school supports service-learning groups organized by students. After approval, students can organize groups that contribute to community in many ways.
School encourages students to work in teams and develop a strong team spirit. The collaboration between different groups gives students more opportunities to learn and reflect. For example, after major events, news group students receive the photos taken by students from the photography group. Finally, the members of the news group write articles and post them on the official SHSID account.
With united effort, students can help the community and enlighten their minds. We hope today’s introduction event will sow the seeds of diligence and devotion.
