Puxi Campus Grades 1-3: Happy Children’s Day
June 1st, the day that belongs to all the children, was celebrated by the primary students and teachers at SHSID. This year’s celebration was special and memorable. The teachers prepared a variety of fun activities for the students!
It is the first time for the first graders celebrated Children’s Day at SHSID. Early in the morning, the students excitedly brought various board games they like to school. In the morning, the kids chose a cozy place in the classroom and started to play with their classmates. The children followed the rules of the games and took turns playing different board games. The classroom was full of laughter. Happy Children’s Day!
The first-grade students also started an the STEAM project on Children’s Day. The students first measured the length of the materials needed for their landmark and then started to build! We look forward to their structures!
In G2, the Children’s Day was full of surprises, laughter, and fun! During the first class of the morning, all G2 students gathered together in the auditorium for a lucky draw activity. Since the beginning of May, they have been completing each task every Friday and collected one stamp accordingly. To get into the final lucky draw, they needed to finish six fun tasks such as singing a poem, finding the oldest book at home, and so on! Later in the science class, they paired up to make a catapult and conduct their experiments. In the afternoon, all children went to the cinema with extreme delight. ng the big day with beaming smiles.
During the PE class, the first and second graders played a game called “Capture the Flag,” they compete to see which team can get the most disks. The students of the attacking team can stay in the safe area first when they get the disks, then find the right time to run back as fast as they can and avoid being caught by the other team members. All players caught must go to the “jail area” to complete 10 jumping jacks and then continue playing as normal. Some children dodged the chase easily with a twist and turn, placing the disks into their own teams’ hula hoop safely. How agile they are! The cheerful PE class is full of their laughter, their screams, and cheers.
The grade-three students uniquely celebrated the day. The students visited Shanghai Sansi Electronic Engineering Co., Ltd., which is a leading company in the domestic LED industry. Under the leadership and introduction of the science and technology team, the students learned about the whole process of LED, from product design to installation and maintenance of parts. In the system laboratory, the students experienced the solutions of LED classroom lighting, smart home, and the application of LED display screens in various fields. Through this visit, students experienced the convenience of science and technology and also felt the thrill of it. What a scientific children’s day!
The most exciting part was that it was a NO HOMEWORK DAY. With several hours of celebration, all students were enjoying the big day with beaming smiles. The children from grade one to grade three had a colorful and fruitful Children’s Day. We sincerely wish everyone happiness every day!
