Grade 6: Monthly Stars of April
After a month of hard work, the much-awaited monthly star results are finally out! From the star of studying to the star of behavior, all students throughout grade 6 have put in numerous amounts of effort to achieve an impressive result.
It was a sunny afternoon on May 12th when the monthly stars were awarded. Students are greeted by a friendly welcome from teachers and then are required to pick a seat in the classroom. After a slight delay, Ms. Shirley and grade 6 homeroom teachers will start announcing the monthly star winners and handing out certificates bundled in with a gift. Finally, when the ceremony is complete, winners of monthly stars gather up at the back of the classroom for photos to be taken.
There are four different variations of monthly stars. Star of study is awarded to achievers of outstanding scores and progress. While the star of study might be similar to the star of progress as you need a lot of progress to obtain the star of study, it is given to students who improved a lot but aren’t necessarily the best of the best. Star of OKR awards people who brilliantly completed the monthly goal-setting form. And last but not least, the star of behavior awards students that act as role models of behavior in front of their peers.

While students who perform well and put in effort would receive a monthly star, a classroom that shows incredible work through duty, reading competition, and a high OKR assignment ratio also are awarded “Star Class.” This month’s Star Classes are 6(1), 6(3), 6(5), and 6(9).
Hard work is visible by more than just scores; if you work hard, the monthly stars will come to you……
