High School Biology Department: Flipped Classroom - Students Teach Biology

May 6, 2021

What is myasthenia gravis? How and why does vaccine hesitancy happen? On April 28th in the video-recording classroom at Zhentao Building, students from 12th-grade A-level biology class brought wonderful presentations to answer such questions for teachers and students who came to observe this class.

The topics, carefully chosen by the students, combine real-life problems with biological learning, fully demonstrating the importance of biological research in solving problems. In their presentations, the students showed deep understanding of relevant knowledge and high-level presentation skills. The audience listened attentively and interacted actively with the students. In the end, teachers who observed the class gave their comments on the presentations. This student-centered class gave students the opportunity to study topics they are interested in, trained their ability in independent learning, especially in learning and presenting research papers, and expanded their horizons in studying biology.
