Grade 6: Have Fun in Game-Programming
In April, in the sixth-grade computer elective course, after students learn scratch programming, they can program to create various interesting games, animations, and stories. Among them, the use of programming to make games is the favorite part of students. The games made by the students are not only interactive, but also very creative. Some of them are even "brain-open" and very attractive. Scratch-programming software is simple and easy to learn, which is very suitable for students just starting out to learn programming. As long as you drag the programming module, you can immediately see the execution effect of the program. Students have given feedback that learning programming in the process of making games is not boring at all.
In the April class, students worked in pairs to complete a game. Each pair of students first discussed the concept of the game and the general logical structure, the setting of the game, the main characters of the game, etc., and then wrote the code for the game. After debugging, the codes were modified continuously until satisfactory games were completed. The two-person cooperation promoted communication and sharing between students. Some teams made racing games, some made maze games, and some made tank-fighting games. The sharing session at the end of the class also allowed students to vote for the most popular games. The atmosphere in the game- programming class is always very active.
