Grade 11: Preparation for Global Citizen Day
As cherry blossoms welcome the approach of spring and the forthcoming Global Citizen Day, 11th graders gathered on the morning of March 25th at Xianmian Annex Auditorium to listen to Ms. Yu Zhen’s speech on the schedule, preparation, and safety requirements for the 3-day camp in Chongming at the end of the month.
Ms. Yu emphasized that safety and discipline were the priority elements in keeping the event successful; students need to follow all of the instructors’ directions as well as dormitory and dining-hall rules. She detailed the necessity supplies students needed to remember to take personally—from bags and toiletries to extra clothes and chargers. Responsibly, every student will need to promise to various obligations they hold, helping to clean cafeterias after each supper, aiding peers who need medical help, bringing a safe (and not excessive) number of electronic appliances and cash needed for the trip, claiming responsibility for any “violations during the event,” and staying within the boundary of the campsite.
Lastly, Ms. Yu concluded the Assembly by offering her best wishes to everyone in finding meaning and fun while staying safe during this 2-night/3-day event.
