Puxi Campus Grade 1: Exciting Activities in Science Class!

We had our scientists back in the classroom this week with not one but two exciting activities. This week we have been learning all about natural resources. We started our week in science by learning all about the different types of soil. Our students used their science tools to inspect two types of soil and record their properties, such as color and texture. Soil is vital to learn about, as it is what gives us fruit and vegetables to eat! In our second lesson, we learned about the three different types of rocks! The students learned how rocks are formed and that a scientist who studies rocks is called a geologist. We think we may have many budding geologists in our class. The students worked together in groups to observe the rocks and record their properties. It looks like there is lots of concentration going on here!
