Grade 9: Assembly — Finding Passions

March 1, 2021

On the morning of February 23, 2021, the first Assembly of the second semester of the school year 2020-2021 took place. The speaker, Sophia from class 9(1), talked about finding passions. To begin her speech, she used a list of numbers to demonstrate that life could feel overwhelming, but it is, in fact, very short, and every individual is microscopic in the grand scheme of the universe. Thus, the speaker believed that for a person to succeed and fulfill their life, they must find and pursue their passion in their relatively short life. The speaker explained that a passion is defined as something that drives people to do their work, and it makes people feel like they have a purpose. Finally, she listed some criteria for choosing a passion that she considers to be important.

The speech was presented to the ninth-grade audience, which is a group that may feel confused about life and what they plan to do in the future. Thus, the subject matter that this speech touches on is, indeed, very relevant to the audience. Hopefully, some people in the audience were able to find the speech useful and insightful.
