Grades 9-10: Art Festival Host Audition
At noon on November 27, the selection of hosts for Grade 9 and Grade 10 of the Art Festival began in the recording studio of the Zhentao Building. The selection was conducted by students who registered freely and participated independently. The selection was in pairs and there were two rounds. After drawing lots the day before to decide the order, students began to show up in groups.
The first round of the main test was the students’ creative ability. In this round, students created their own drafts in advance, and then performed on stage in turn. They could freely choose the opening and closing clips according to their strengths. Through the wonderful performance, diversity of individual developmentand good bilingual language skills of the contestant can be clearly observed. Generally speaking, Grade 9 students tend to be more rigorous and have a more dignified stage presence. 10th graders, on the other hand, tend to have a more witty, relaxed stage presence.
The second round mainly tested the students' ability to play on the spot and assess their coping skills. Students drew notes, and each piece of paper described a different kind of festival scene that may appear in an unexpected situation. This includes music being released in advance, performers entering in advance, delayed admission, incorrect timelines and so on. This round gave students opportunities to fully demonstrate their reaction abilities and quick and clear thinking.
