November 23, 2020

During the Assembly on November 17th, 10th Grade students went down to the Lecture Hall for a short lecture about college research given by Alex Xu from class 7.

College choice begins to enter10th graders's radar, but how are they to know about all the various colleges out there? How can they predict whether a college suits them or not? In Alex’s speech, he said that usually colleges have five main metrics: ranking, location, requirements, job opportunities, and specialization.

He then introduced some websites and resources about universities to the peers, such as each university's own official website, College Board, reputable rankings, etc. At the end of his speech, he said that knowing more about a university is only the first step, a student's future will not change much just because she attend a certain university, but it will certainly change a lot due to the knowledge and abilities she acquired at the university. Thus, everyone should focus on her own personal growth.

The students has some new views on college research as well as future planning. They nodded frequently and thanked Alex for his sharing.
