Grade 6: Sports Week! Let’s Go!
In YD class on October 15th, the grade six students carried out a fun and enthusiastic long-rope jumping competition. Students gathered in a line to jump over a long rope and then continue moving in order to let the person behind them have a try. With all the students jumping in order over the rope, it looked like a slippery snake.
The students had practiced on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and continued trying hard to complete the activity without any mistakes before the main event. It was going to be one tough competition. “Pat, pat, pat,” went the rhythmic beat of the jumping rope and the murmurs of the person in charge of counting. Everyone was nervous. Finally, at 3:10, the race was about to begin.
“One, two, three, four, five…” the counter started to count as competition began and students jumped over the swinging rope. After what seemed like no time at all, three minutes had passed. The counters had recorded the number of jumps and told the teachers. All students had done their best and got great scores. Some homerooms recorded 104 jumps while others got only 90 jumps. But the grand winner is… class 6(8) with 197 jumps! In second place we have 6(9) with 168 jumps and in third place we have 6(2) with 137 jumps. Let’s all give a grand round of applause for all the amazing scores and for the end to a successful Sports Week!
