Pudong Grade 1: Pinyin Hats

October 20, 2020

During Chinese class on October 20th, first grade students at SHSID Pudong campus worked on cute handcrafts to represent their knowledge of Chinese Pinyin. The crafts they made were called Pinyin Mao, hats full of pinyin characters and colorful illustrations. Students needed to recognize different intonations of Pinyin, such as zhi, chi, shi, ri etc. and then make different words with certain pinyin. After they successfully came up with a word, they were free to draw any pictures that were related to their chosen word. Through this fun activity, students have gained a solid foundation for Pinyin learning!
