High School Biology Department: Department Activity

On October 10th, 2020, teachers from the SHSID biology department participated in a life science subject communication activity in the Lecture Hall of Zhentao Building. First, teachers observed an open class given by Mr. Zhang from the local division's biology department - “Protein and Nucleic Acid Are Important Biological Macromolecules”. Mr. Zhang’s clear thinking, coherent explanation, ingenious activity design, and guidance made learning engaging and fun. Students were able to understand difficult concepts step by step. Like the students, biology education experts and teachers who observed this class were absorbed in the class. They were amused by Mr. Zhang’s humor from time to time, and carefully wrote down the teaching methods worth learning. After the class, Mr. Zhang summarized how he designed this lesson based on the new standards for biology curriculum. The presenting experts commented on this open class and spoke highly of it. Then the teachers exchanged what they learned from this lesson, and discussed how to make improvement in future teaching based on the new standards.
