Grade 12: Self-directed Academy Course Sharing

September 30, 2020

On September 25th, Grade 12 students began their day with an informative yet engaging Assembly.

Ms. Zhang Yueyue started off by providing essential details about the AP exam policy and the latest college information sessions.

Next, four students from Grade 12 introduced their self-directed Academy course that they organized last semester. Due to the requirement of online studying, some students were allowed to design their own Academy online class. This particular Academy class focused on creative writing. The students introduced their purpose, what they did, the writing process, and most importantly, what they learned. Naturally, setting aside time every week allowed the students to improve their writing skills immensely through collaborative work. Aside from that, they also learned how to further develop creativity through writing stories of different genres as well as stepping out of comfort zones by sharing their work with others.

It was another fulfilling Assembly where students were informed of the important details they may need during college applications season, and they got to know an exciting Academy class that their peers carried out.
