Pudong Campus Grade 5: Becoming Smart Note-Takers

After starting their life in grade 5, many students have found that they are dealing with harder materials and more information in each subject. Therefore, effective note-taking skills are extremely beneficial for them in adapting to advanced learning. During P&B class on Sept. 22nd, the 5th graders of Pudong campus learned some methods of note-taking. First, teachers introduced some basic skills such as mind mapping and the Cornell method. Then a video clip on the history of schooling was shown to the class, during which the students practiced their newly acquired skills. In order to take effective notes, they are supposed to grasp main ideas, mark down important details, and summarize. After this kind of practice, the students began to realize the importance of note-taking. With organized and thoughtful notes, they will surely improve their understanding and recall of what they have learned in class.
