Puxi Campus Grade 2: Parent Talk—Friendly Tips on Staying Healthy in School
As it is getting cooler these days, autumn also becomes influenza season since viruses are best transmitted at such temperatures. While the prevention measures of Covid-19 are still in place, flu season is beginning. In the face of a looming double threat, it is vitally important for children at school to practice good personal hygiene and protect themselves to avoid getting sick. On September 16th, Puxi Grade 2 had an expert visitor offer all children a health-related lesson to raise their hygiene awareness and encourage the development of good habits in life.
Sophia Chin, currently working at the American-Sino Women’s & Children’s Hospital, vividly shared a large number of health tips with students. She started with a discussion of why it’s important to stay healthy and afterward presented some ways to prevent catching a cold, such as keeping social distancing, wearing face masks correctly, washing hands often, sleeping well every day, having a balanced diet, etc. Meanwhile, mental well-being also matters in terms of thinking positively and getting rid of negative thoughts. Only by staying physically and mentally healthy can we prevent viruses from attacking our bodies.
We would like to extend many thanks to Sophia Chin for this wonderful lesson. One can never focus too much on health. Let’s all work together to foster a healthy, safe, and supportive learning environment where all children can grow up healthily and happily!
