Grade 10: Parents Meeting Successfully Held

To let parents know more about the school's curriculum and course selections in Grades 11 & 12, the 10th Grade parents meeting was held on September 11, 2020.

Parents started to arrive at around 5:00 p.m., when the volunteers were ready to help. The volunteers were responsible for examining the parents' green codes at the door of the auditorium and making sure parents wore masks, which ensured the parents' meeting be carried out safely.

The first session of the parents' meeting was in the auditorium of the Xianmian Annex Building at 6:00 p.m. At the beginning of the meeting, Principal Ma Feng welcomed all the parents and thanked them for their understanding and support of the school. He also introduced the idea of comprehensive development in high school. Then, the IB/AP coordinator Ms. Jiang Hao introduced the various courses provided in G11 and gave her suggestions on selecting courses. After that, Ms. Cui Mengdi and Mr. Adam Nikolich from the College Counseling Officeintroduced important information on the college application process and creative courses and activities provided by SHSID.

The second session of the parents meeting was held in the Zhentao Building, in which subject teachers lectured in each classroom about their subjects. They introduced the school's basic courses and IB/AP/A-level courses in 10-12th Grades. In the Q&A session after the lectures, the parents learned more about high school education and the content of each course so they would be more helpful when working with their children to plan for their future.

The parents meeting concluded at about 9:00 p.m., thanks to all the teachers’ efforts and parents' support, it was a very productive meeting.
