Grade 10: PBL Course Introduction and Selection

September 14, 2020

During the 3rd and 4th periods on September 8th, all the 10th graders gathered in Xianmian Auditorium to listen to a PBL course introduction and to make their own course selection. PBL (project-based learning) courses revolve around students working in groups completing projects in order to dive directly into the subject at hand. They allow the students to take a more hands-on approach to the course and learning while gaining experience in the field at the same time.

In the introduction session, Ms. Chen Lin first explained the PBL courses, she also gave the general requirements of the courses. Then, instructors of different PBL courses were invited to introduce and present their courses. There are over 20 of them, which include subjects such as math, literature, chemistry, law, economics, physics, paper-folding, statistics, drama, and many more. Every course has its own aim, specialty, and focus, making sure that every student can find one that suits his/her own interest. At the end of the day, every student makes his/her own choice. We hope everyone can learn and enjoy in his/her favorite course.
