Puxi Campus Grade 1: Learning Chinese Rhyme through Paper Cutting

“Small scissors, in my hand, I learn paper cuttingfrom my grandmother…”If you passed the corridors ofgradeone on Friday, you would have surely heard the students reading something together.What you would’ve heardwas a rhyme that the children ofgradeone were learning. The rhyme describes childrenenjoyinglearning how to do different kinds of paper cutting with their grandmother.The first-grade Chinese teachers preparedeverything the students would need totruly experience the fun of paper cutting. They preparedmany different varietiesof colors and patterns for the children. After reading the rhyme, each childwas then able topersonallypartake inthejoyof paper cutting. Theyeachtook up the small scissors anddeterminedlystarted to cut. When they completed their work, they all showed satisfied smiles. It was so much fun to learn through hands-on activities!
