Grades 11-12：Scholarship Selection Session

On the afternoon of August 29th, a group of outstanding junior and senior students participated in the annual scholarship selection session in the Zhentao and Xianmian Buildings. The scholarships included the Principal Award and the Social Activity Award. The Principal Award requires both outstanding academic achievements and activities, while the Social Activity Award is GPA-blind and requires avid participation in activities inside as well as outside of school.

On the day of the selection session, in front of the jury composed of Chinese and foreign teachers, student representatives, and parent representatives, each scholarship applicant confidently completed the personal speech session and responded to the judges’ questions, each showing his or her own characteristics and charm.

To promote comprehensive development of students is the underlying philosophy of the SHSID scholarship program. To measure a student in an all-around way is the fundamental purpose of the scholarship of SHSID. The Principal Award encourages students' all-around development, and the Social Activity Award encourages students to pursue excellence in their areas of interest. Regardless of the final result, the students who participated in the session summarized their past year through this process and prepared for a new start.
