Grade 10: Outstanding Sophomore Project Presentation
After a year of hard work and dedication, Grade 10 students of Shanghai High School International Division have successfully completed their Sophomore Project. After careful consideration, the judges selected seven outstanding teams to record their presentations at school. Later, during the double CAS periods on June 10, all the 10th graders watched these short but wonderful presentations together online.
Even though these seven groups all had different topics, they all fundamentally circled back to the main question: “Who are we?” The first group “Octacoms” described different social interactions in detail from a global perspective. "2^3" introduced us to the past and present of takeaway dining. "Magic Eight" then introduced plastics from biological, chemical, economic, and historical perspectives. "Little Einstein" analyzed the feasibility of space exploration from an economic perspective. As citizens of Shanghai, "NEW Shanghainese" introduced the intricate Shanghainese dialect and culture in the most special way.
The Sophomore Project officially ended with the outstanding groups finishing their presentations. Every student dedicated their time to building their skills in research, teamwork, and other abilities, which has laid a solid foundation for their Junior Project next year as well. We look forward to more exciting research by students next year!
