Grade 7: Daily Vlogs

June 15, 2020

Recently the seventh-grade students were tasked with creating a vlog about their weekends. During the course of a week, students have made and posted their vlogs onto LinkedClassroom and have all spent a lot of time and effort in making them perfect. During YD class, the students of the seventh grade have watched these vlogs, and everyone seemed very enthusiastic upon seeing their own and other students’ vlogs. The vlogs posted that were posted all have very high-quality editing and are very interesting. Many people included doing homework or having online classes in their vlogs, which shows how much time the school’s assigned homework takes up in a student’s weekend life. Some students included art class or just drawing in their vlogs, which was very interesting to watch. There were also vlogs that had students hanging out with their friends and having fun. While actually watching these vlogs, the students of each class seemed to pay a lot of attention and would often laugh at some funny details in the vlog. The teachers assigned this activity to allow students to actually see what their classmates do during the weekend and possibly learn from them. It also allowed students to see how they can make their own weekends more productive or enjoyable. Finally, the vlogs also allowed students to improve their video editing, which is a skill that will often be used in a student’s future studies and occupations. The vlogs students posted on the LC website have brought lots of happiness and positive energy to the seventh grade and helped teachers see what students usually do on the weekends. This activity was very beneficial for all the students of the seventh-grade and deserves to be used again for next semester’s seventh graders. We hope they enjoy this activity as much as this year’s seventh grades have.
