Grade 9: Sharing about Club Activities

June 10, 2020

SNAP was founded five years ago. All the members go to two different health centers near the school every Friday to help children and adults with cerebral palsy. It was painful for the club members when they first realized that those cute and friendly children had to endure mockery from people who were not aware that their “strange” behaviors were actually caused by mental disability. Because these special groups usually lack contact with the outside world and the outside world sometimes has prejudices against this group, SNAP hopes to do something to help and provide heart-warming contact. Prior to participating in SNAP volunteering sessions, most members' concept of charity was largely limited to charity fair sales and monetary donations, but in fact charity is much more beyond that. At the same time, members inevitably feel powerless because there is so little they can do for these people compared with what they need and deserve, and they have struggled with that notion for a long time. However, a drop of water makes a ripple. Whether it's bringing these marginalized individuals happiness for one hour or merely introducing more caring people to the community, these are all meaningful accomplishments. SNAP will stick to it and pass on love and warmth.
