Grade 9: Frenshman Project Presentation (2)
On May 7, Karen from Class 9(6) shared with everyone the freshman project her group had worked on over the past two months. Who are we at SHSID? This is the pivotal question for students of Grade 9 to explore during the freshman project. The topic of Karen’s group project is neuroscience, which is a discipline about the structure and function of the nervous system and brain. Each of the group members focused on merely one single course, but each came from different categories of neuroscience, including: psychology, biology, chemistry, IT, physics, and history.
At the beginning, every group member was brimming with incessant excitement on the topic they had chosen. However, the problem of inefficiency and time management came out when they started planning the presentation as a whole group. After a long period of struggle, they eventually accomplished this task with the honorable spirit of proceeding with no hesitation.
Thus, this freshman project provided all the group members an exceptional opportunity to learn deeper into the topic of neuroscience and the human brain, especially the study of human behavior. Moreover, after experiencing two long months of putting great effort into this freshman project, Karen realized that learning about the discipline of neuroscience was not the only progress achieved but also learning the importance of teamwork and to never give up.
