Grade 10: Question and Imagination – The Math Story behind an Apple

Recently, a speech entitled "Question and Imagination – The Math Story behind an Apple” was presented by Mr. Pan Liu, a professor from Department of Mathematics at ECNU. By illustrating several geometry problems, Mr. Liu emphasized the point that "questioning is the essence of math.” At the end of the presentation, the students were left with a problem to mull over: "If an apple is sliced with a knife six times, at most how many pieces can be obtained?"
