Puxi Grade One: Reading Race

Every October in SHSID is Reading Month. Accordingly, the first graders are having a reading race. During the race, they are encouraged to read as many books as possible in both English and Chinese. Parents will help to record the times and book names. There are two competitions during the reading month, the individual reading race and class competition. Every student will get stamps on the reading race chart, and the student who obtains the most stamps in a week will be the reading star of the class. Teachers will add up all the minutes per week spent reading for each class, and the class with the most minutes will be the winner for that week. Our reading race will last for one month. Reading is a good habit for our children, and we believe they will all benefit from this activity.
