Pu Xi Grade 4: Scavenger Hunt

In a recent geography class, after learning the four cardinal directions and how to use a map, the geography teachers designed an exciting scavenger hunt for the 4th graders. On the day of the scavenger hunt, each student was put in a group, and each group got one special hand-drawn map and one set of questions. Different classes got different question sheets. Only once a group completed a given task did it get the instructions that enabled it to find the location where the next set of tasks was hidden. It was hard to find all the hidden items, and correctly answering all the questions was even harder. The game was a tough test both mentally and physically.

The students finished the game in one period. In order to play the game, they had to continuously think about and discuss the concepts they had learned about with each other. They not only consolidated their newly learned knowledge but also cultivated a spirit of teamwork in the process. It was a really beneficial activity.
