8th Grade Eco Fashion Show

Fashion shows can be amusing to watch. But an eco-fashion show? That’s a whole different story. On May 2nd, the 8th graders had an exhilarating CAS evening watching models wear their own creations. Before the day, many groups designed and created clothing made out of old items they found back home, such as old cloth and poker cards. The basketball competitions were for the guys, so this time the girls get their chance to shine.Interestingly enough, all girl groups made their beautiful dresses, and there were only two groups which were of boys and extreme creativity. And shine they do; every model marched up the stage alongside their designers, struck their confident poses, and gave brilliant smiles to the judges. Some genius dresses were made out of plain newspaper, and others used old cloth to pattern out their dresses so delicately that, if you don’t look close enough, truly seemed to be an actual dress from a mall. One group even wore a plain garbage bag just for the fun! Learning to be eco-friendly is important. Even if some groups did not get a prize, I’m sure everyone had a lot of fun making their own unique and green outfits.
