Grade 8 Charity Fair
Toys, books, and food galore lead us to the Charity Fair of SHSID Junior Section! Excitement filled the air as the sun finally came out of its hiding place last Thursday. Throughout the morning, students and teachers busied themselves by preparing for the event that was going to take place in the afternoon. Already, the enthusiasm could be seen on everyone’s face. As the bell signaling lunch break rang, students and teachers all rushed to buy the limited coupons. After optional class, the cafeteria was full of all sorts of food, drinks, games, goods and customers! The cafeteria was abuzz with excitement, where students and teachers could not wait to see every booth and taste every dessert. Some booths, including the Korean rice cake, Japanese noodles, home-made brownies, hot dogs, were crowded with both students and teachers. Games were set up, books and DVDs were stacked in piles, food was quickly and carefully made, customers happily purchased the things they wanted; each floor of the cafeteria was filled with people ‘hunting’. As time ticked by, the crowd began to subside, and foods& goods were rapidly disappearing. Popular booths had to clean up and close early since there were no more goods left for consumers to buy, other booths took turn looking after their items while the other went shopping and exploring. Many booths were successful and made lots of money, which would be donated to the charities. The cheerful and excited school day ended with tired, but contented students, leaving with their ‘prize’. Let’s all give a round of applause for everyone who participated in the charity fair and raised money for charity. Everyone worked very hard and did a fantastic job!
