Pen Pals

There's also been lots of excitement about our pen pals across the pond. Last semester we sent pen pal letters to schools in the United States. This semester we got letters back and they were great! The American childrenwere very interested in China and how the kids here are different or the same as kids in their country. We used this opportunity to explore the idea of artifacts in social studies class and made old looking paper by soaking it in tea and coffee, letting it dry, and then using it to write our return letters. It was a little messy, but fun!
