The Reading Race

The students of grade 2 have been very busy over the last couple of weeks reading and collecting stamps for the reading race. Every time a student reads a new book, they go to tell their teacher what the book is about, and earn themselves a stamp on the class reading race board. Once a student reads 20 books and gets 20 stamps, they are eligible for the school’s special party which will be held in a few weeks’ time.

The students are also reading as many books as they can to win the grade 2 reading competition. Each class in grade 2 has a reading thermometer out on the corridor for all to see.The goal is to reach 300 books as a class before the reading race is over.The first class in grade 2 to reach 300 books will also win a special prize.
