SHSID Children's Choir Wins Gold at the 2024 World Youth Choir Festival
During summer vacation, the SHSID Children's Choir traveled to Hong Kong, China to participate in the 2024 World Youth Choir Festival. This was the first time our children's choir has competed in a world-class choral event. With a thrilling finish our group won the Gold Award in the A2 Children's Choir category.
It is reported that this year's festival brought together more than sixty outstanding choirs from twenty-three countries and regions around the world. The event was a grand celebration of music, featuring star-studded concerts, engaging workshops, and insightful masterclasses. It also offered participants opportunities for friendly exchanges, fierce competition, and roundtable discussions, all designed for observation and learning. Despite the packed schedule, our students had the chance to visit many local cultural landmarks. This allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of diverse cultures, seamlessly blending their competitive experience with valuable educational opportunities.
The choir's remarkable achievement is attributed to the strong support from the school, grade levels, teaching and research groups, and of course the active cooperation of parents. Above all, this achievement stands as a testament to the choir members' unwavering dedication to intense rehearsals in the summer heat and their exemplary discipline throughout the journey. Their commitment not only showcased high artistic standards but also inspirational team spirit. Looking ahead, as a symbol of our International Division’s outreach and exchange, the choir will continue to strive for excellence and make ongoing progress!
