Pudong Campus ---- Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration
The Mid-Autumn Festival arrives with a bright and full moon, carrying the sentiment of reunion. To celebrate this traditional Chinese festival, which is rich in cultural heritage, the SHSID Pudong Campus has kicked off a series of vibrant celebrations. On this occasion, the students have rolled up their sleeves and unleashed their talents, skillfully weaving their heartfelt wishes and deep expectations into exquisite handicrafts, welcoming the arrival of Mid-Autumn in a unique manner.
Students and teachers gather joyously to trace the long history of the Mid-Autumn Festival, discussing its evolution and inheritance throughout the ages. They enthusiastically delve into the popular customs of the festival, from moon gazing and mooncake eating to lantern carrying, each embodying people's aspirations for reunion and a happy life. Among them, the "internet-famous mooncakes" with novel flavors and unique designs have become a focal point of discussion, igniting the students' interest in cultural innovation within traditional festivals.
The students also engaged in making “Mid-Autumn Rabbit Lanterns” handicrafts. They carefully selected materials and skillfully cut and painted, gradually bringing to life delicate and graceful lanterns. Some lanterns were adorned with images of the bright moon, while others featured cute rabbits, symbolizing reunion and good fortune. As night fell, students hung up their handmade lanterns to send good wishes, as well as thoughts and blessings to their friends and family.
