Grade 11 Assembly: Chemistry and Community

In the morning of September 12, 2024, the 11th-grade students of SHSID gathered in the Xianmian Building Annex Auditorium for the first weekly assembly of the semester. After Ms. Yu announced several important notices to the students, Peiying from 11(1) made a presentation on the topic of “Chemistry and Community.”

Peiying first shared her experience of getting interested in chemistry and exploring this subject. She elaborated on the process of joining the Chemistry Competition Club and having the chance to learn from and teach peers. She highlighted that teaching others is very different from simply learning knowledge, as it helps to consolidate the knowledge. Next, Peiying mentioned her experience in the STEMDoge club, where she met other students passionate about all different kinds of STEM subjects. She concluded the presentation by sharing the valuable lessons she learned from “Chemistry and Community,” providing motivational inspiration to other students who are also pursuing their dreams.
