Pudong Campus Fire Drill: Enhancing Safety Awareness

September 28, 2024

On the morning of Thursday, September 26th, SHISD Pudong Campus held its first fire drill of the semester. The purpose of this drill was to enhance students and community's ability to respond to emergencies such as fires, ensuring a swift and orderly evacuation to safety. Fire drill is an essential part of safety education, emphasizing the need for ongoing commitment to build a solid foundation for campus safety culture.

As the sharp fire alarm rang out, the campus immediately shifted into emergency mode. Teachers and students quickly set aside their tasks, and gathered promptly.  Everyone bent down and covered their mouth and nose to move safely, strictly following established evacuation routes as they exited the teaching buildings. Additionally, teachers were stationed at all emergency exits, guiding the flow of people and ensuring an orderly evacuation process.

Once all grades arrived at the designated safe area, homeroom teachers conducted a headcount to confirm that every student had evacuated safely. With the final confirmation of “all present,” the drill concluded successfully. Students deeply felt the importance of safety, reinforcing the vital message: in emergencies, staying calm, following protocols, and acting swiftly are the keys to safety.
