Praise for the National Day — "Music For People" Charity Concert Held at Shanghai Children’s Medical Center

September 29, 2024

October is a season of harvest and gratitude. On the afternoon of September 27, with a grateful heart, the club "Music For People" came to the outpatient hall of Shanghai Children's Medical Center to be a part of the celebration of the National Day.

The founding purpose of the club is "music for people", to spread love and care through music. Considering that some children, family members, or medical staff in the hospital were not convenient to come to the lobby to watch the performance, club members innovatively planned this concert and tried live broadcast for the first time, so that their music and care can reach farther.

The concert started with the grand opening of "I Love You China" by 20 members of the Shanghai High School Wind Ensemble. The melody was beautiful and lyrical, and it was magnificent. It attracted the attention of the outpatient hall and upstairs at the beginning of the concert.  Continuing the resonance of people's feelings for the motherland, the French Horn Trio brought "My Motherland and I" in a melodious and graceful tune, expressing the most simple and sincere emotions.

Next, pieces like the piano solo "Danny Boy" expressed infinite attachment to relatives, homeland, and the past time. The guitar solo "Memories" brought a soft sense of nostalgia, with smooth melody and sincere emotions, which made people cherish the precious moments of the past and feel the warmth and power contained in the music. The cello solo "Seitz's Fifth Concerto, First Movement" had distinct paragraphs, ups and downs, and ended with a cheerful allegro. The violin solo "Mozart's Third Violin Concerto, First Movement" showed unique youthful vitality and elegant temperament in a typical allegro. In addition, the musical songs like "RIGHT HAND MAN" used the combination of joy and drama commonly seen in musicals, while also showing the power of the pursuit of self-realization.

Ten music programs with different styles, forms or instrumental music were presented not only in the outpatient hall of the Children's Medical Center but also in the live broadcast. What the club wanted to convey was not only diverse music, but also the love and power contained in the music. As the purpose of the club, music is for people, music is for you and me, and music is for joy and harmony!
