Stallions Performed Well in the 2024 National Lacrosse Championship
On August 5, 2024, the Baseball and Softball Sports Park in Yilong New District, Xingyi City, Guizhou Province, witnessed the successful conclusion of the National Lacrosse Championship. This three-day sporting event brought together 53 elite teams and 523 athletes from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Sichuan, and other regions, competing in 118 fierce matches across ten different categories, showcasing the unique charm and limitless vitality of lacrosse.
With lacrosse officially included as a competitive sport in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and the 2025 Chengdu World Games, it is experiencing unprecedented opportunities for growth and promotion in China. This year’s championship saw a significant increase in the number of participating teams and a more comprehensive range of categories, reflecting the rapid development of the sport and signalling a broader outreach, particularly in schools nationwide.
As pioneers in promoting lacrosse, the Stallions Team members showcased their dedication and outstanding performance at this sporting event. With a forward-looking strategy, our school’s lacrosse team achieved impressive results at the national championship. Students in the U15 category, through rigorous training and excellent teamwork, secured the runner-up position, bringing honour to the school and setting an example for the sport's youth development.
The Stallions also excelled in other categories, with several players earning runner-up and third-place finishes in the U8 and U10 divisions, demonstrating the school's strong talent pool for the sport. These achievements not only affirm the individual capabilities of the athletes but also exemplify the team spirit of the Stallions.
On a personal level, second grader Lyanna’s experience exemplifies the dual nature of the National Lacrosse Championship as both a competitive challenge and a valuable growth opportunity. From last year’s U8 national third-place finish to this year’s runner-up, he embodies the spirit of "surpassing oneself" through his hard work and determination. During the competition, he also formed friendships with like-minded individuals from across the country, experiencing the infinite appeal of team sports and solidifying his resolve to aim for the national championship.
As the championship concludes, a new season is on the horizon. The Stallions’ coaches and players are prepared to embark on their next training and competitions with renewed enthusiasm and steadfast commitment. They understand that while past honours are celebrated, future efforts are essential. On this new journey, they will be ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities with a fresh perspective. We look forward to the Stallions Team continuing to write glorious chapters in the future of lacrosse, bringing pride to our school and contributing significantly to the sport's development. Let us anticipate their outstanding achievements in the new season. See you on the field!
