G11 | Assembly: Journey of Excellence and Passion
On May 23rd, an assembly session took place for the 11th grade. Harrison from 11(4) presented his experiences ranging from history to UN representation in this week’s sharing.
At the start of his speech, Harrison pin-pointed his message—that juniors and high schoolers among all should strive for excellence and create opportunities for themselves. Harrison started by bringing up his passion in history, where his fascination with WWII comics and touring Rome has led him to publish two historical papers and a history book. Some may consider academic rigor as the key indicator to one’s success, but Harrison reminded all that building a well-rounded profile like all professionals can be more helpful. An interesting experience Harrison mentioned in talking about his experience working with the United Nations was that when he and the youth delegates were discussing about policy and affairs, the security council nearby made real-life decisions with Middle East Issues.
Again, these sort of interesting experiences in high school fascinated the audience. Harrison ended the session on a high note emphasizing that only determination and passion can lead to one achieving self-worth.
