Stallions Flag Football Dominated at the NFL Flag Tournament
The SHSID Flag Football team had an outstanding performance at the NFL East China region U19 tournament, held in Shanghai on October 27th, winning all three of their preliminary games and taking the championship title in the finals. With exceptional teamwork and great individual performances, the team dominated all their games, winning by at least a margin of 12 points, or 2 touchdowns, in every game.
For the team’s great performance, they not only won the championship, but they also received 4 individual awards.
The team captain, Richard 12 (7) received MVP for his performance in the games, catching 3 touchdowns and coordinating the team rotation and defense organization. The star player of the tournament, Bruce 12 (6), earning the most points out of all players, received Most Valuable Running Back, “carrying the team” as his teammates recall. The Most Valuable Quarterback award was given to Ryan 12 (6) for his constant participation in the offense, being responsible for throwing the most amounts of touchdowns caught. Coach Wu received the Most Valuable Coach award for diligently rallying up the team, preparing warm-ups, and organizing participation.
While the individual recognitions are well-deserved, it was the collective effort of the entire team that propelled SHSID to victory. Each player, from the quarterback to wide receivers to defense players, brought their best effort to the field and demonstrated cohesive teamwork.
