High School Biology Department: 2024 Excellent Achievements of British Biology Olympiad, BioOlympiad Initiative USA-China and USA Biology Olympiad Open Exam

Recently, the results of British Biology Olympiad (BBO) and BioOlympiad Initiative USA-China(BIO-USACN) were announced for the high school section of Shanghai High School International Division. The students achieved excellent awards. There were 54 students who received global awards in BBO: 17 students received Gold awards, 16 students received Silver awards, 15 students received worldwide Bronze awards, 3 students received highly Commended awards, and 3 students received Commended awards. There were 21 students who received national awards in BIO-USACN in total. 2 students received Gold awards, 4 students received Silver awards, 5 students received Bronze awards, and 10 students received regional honorable awards. Additionally, through the efforts of teachers, SHSID high school students participated in the USA Biology Olympiad Open Exam (USABO) for the first time this year and achieved excellent results as well. A total of 14 students won certificates, with 1 student ranking in the top 10% and advancing to the semi-finals, 5 students ranking in the top 20% receiving honorable mention certificates, and 8 students ranking in the top 30% receiving certificates of Merit scores.

We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to all the students who stood out in the competitions. We also sincerely thank the teachers of the Biology Olympiad Club and all the biology teachers for their hard work. It is their high-quality teaching and solid guidance that provides the academic support that is so valuable to the students. We look forward to continue in making breakthroughs and create even more brilliant results in the future!
