U15 Boys Basketball Dominates in the First Tournament of the Season
On November 9th, the Stallions hosted their inaugural U15 basketball tournament, competing against four schools: YK Pao, Dehong, NACIS, and LYBS. With determination and exceptional teamwork, the Stallions emerged victorious in a thrilling final, capping off a day of impressive performances.
In the opening round, the Stallions faced LYBS, delivering a statement victory with a commanding 39-5 scoreline. Their sharp offense and impenetrable defense set the tone for the rest of the tournament.
After a strong start, the Stallions moved on to face YK Pao in a high-energy matchup. The Stallions dominated the first quarter, leading 13-3. However, YK Pao’s aggressive trapping defense and smooth offense caused a temporary scoring drought in the second quarter, narrowing the Stallions’ lead to just 10 points. Despite the challenge, the team held their composure, regrouped in their timeout with Coach’s help, and pulled away for a hard-fought 21-5 win.
In the third game, the Stallions continued their momentum with a dominant 47-6 victory over NACIS. Their trapping defense held NACIS scoreless in the first quarter, and even with a stronger offensive effort from their opponents in the second half, the Stallions maintained full control. This game also gave newer players significant minutes, showcasing the team’s depth and potential.
The tournament culminated in the championship game, where the Stallions faced off against Dehong. With the title on the line, the Stallions delivered their most electrifying performance of the day. Their defense was once again unbreakable, holding Dehong scoreless in the first half. The final score of 30-8 secured the championship and underscored the Stallions’ dominance throughout the tournament. Newcomer Joshua Suhe earned MVP honors for his outstanding contributions in both offense and defense.
This tournament marked an incredible start to the season for the Stallions' U15 boys' basketball team. Their performance not only secured the championship but also showcased their potential for growth. As they prepare for friendly games, future tournaments, and the upcoming season, the Stallions are determined to build on this early success and continue their winning streak.
