"Winter Sunshine" Lunchtime Music Vignettes: Original and Classical

December 9, 2024

On both December 3rd and December 6th, the International Division High School hosted two lunchtime music vignettes in the basement hall of the Zhongxing Building, the former featuring original music by students and the latter piano performances of many diverse genres.

The original music performances, from composition and lyrics to production and audio mixing, were created entirely by students from ninth to twelfth grade and each note reflected the creators' intelligence and musical talent. Through these collaborative performances, musical concepts intertwined with melodies and presented works brimming with individuality and vitality. These performances showcased youth’s boundless potential and artistry.

The piano showcase featured a diverse repertoire including classical, jazz and anime music. The performance styles ranged from serene and delicate to passionate and exuberant, from refined elegance to bold and unique expressions. Each piece demonstrated the performers' profound love for the piano and their deep understanding of music. The dynamic notes at their fingertips not only brought melodies to life but also conveyed musical emotions and artistic dreams.

These vignettes served as a showcase of the International Division High School’s distinctive music curriculum. Under the warm winter sunshine, they created a rich artistic ambiance and offered harmony and tranquil beauty both to teachers and students alike.
