SHSID Floorball Club Won National Tournament (Hangzhou) Championship

On December 8, SHSID Floorball Club's ten-member team competed in the 3rd China Middle School Floorball Championship & 2024 National Youth U-Series Floorball Championship (Hangzhou), held at the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics International Innovation Institute (Sino-French Institute) in Yuhang. Against all odds, they secured a triumphant victory in the U18 class. This landmark achievement marks the team's first participation and win at a national-level competition.



The tournament, jointly organized by the General Administration of Sport of China, the China Hockey Association, and the China University Sports Federation and hosted by the Yuhang District People's Government of Hangzhou, was a spectacular event. Five age groups, 50 teams, and over 700 athletes played 108 thrilling matches over two days. In its debut, the SHSID Floorball Club demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and skill, leaving a lasting impression on the competition.



This young team, comprised of players spanning 5 grade levels, faced numerous challenges. Lacking a dedicated goalkeeper, each match saw a different player selected at random to fill the crucial position. Johnny, Lucas, and Jennifer, the team's only female player, bravely stepped up, delivering professional-level performances in goal. Competing under the mixed-gender rules, Jennifer displayed exceptional resilience and tactical acumen, overcoming physical and mental demands. Her strategic plays repeatedly broke through opponent defenses, scoring key goals and inspiring her teammates.



This victory is a testament to the team's trust, collaboration, and unwavering desire to win. Every player scored a goal, and Coach/Captain Eric expressed immense pride in their collective performance. The competition refined their teamwork and coordination and honed their tactical execution, showcasing the team's exceptional spirit.



This Hangzhou trip was more than just a competition; it was a valuable growth journey. The SHSID Floorball Club demonstrated its immense potential and laid a strong foundation for future success. We are confident that this young team will continue to strive for excellence and achieve even greater triumphs in the future.
